The Executive Secretary of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Cornelius Segun Adebayo, held a strategic meeting with four Local Government Executive Chairmen from Kwara South on Tuesday.
The chairmen included Hon. Wale Awelewa of Ekiti Local Government, Hon. Azees Tinuola of Irepodun Local Government, Hon. Benjamin Lanre Jolayemi of Isin Local Government, and Hon. James Fadipe of Oke-Ero Local Government.
The high-level discussion, held at NALDA's office, centered on strengthening partnerships to enhance agricultural land development and ensure food security across the region. Key topics included leveraging NALDA’s resources and expertise to adopt advanced farming practices and maximize the use of fertile, arable lands in the area.
Hon. Benjamin Lanre Jolayemi, the Chairman of Isin Local Government, underscored the immense potential of unused fertile lands in his locality.
He advocated for cluster farming and initiatives to involve youth in agriculture, aiming to boost employment and food production.
The meeting reflects a shared vision for agricultural transformation, positioning it as a driver for sustainable economic growth in Kwara South.
