In a momentous event held in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, Governor Abdullahi Sule, commissioned the newly remodeled office of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.
The ceremony, which attracted notable dignitaries, served as a platform for the Governor to reiterate his administration's commitment to workers' welfare and the development of the state.
Speaking at the event, Governor Sule emphasized his administration’s resolve to implement the N70,500 minimum wage starting this December, assuring workers of prompt salary payment and protection against any victimization due to the ongoing industrial action.
He called on striking workers to return to their duty posts while negotiations on consequential adjustments for other categories of workers continue.
"This remodeled office reflects our commitment to providing a conducive working environment for governance.
I also assure our workers that we will uphold their rights, pay salaries promptly, and commence the implementation of the minimum wage this month," Governor Sule declared.
Acknowledging Contributions to Nasarawa’s Development
The Governor lauded Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe for his patience over the years, describing him as a dependable partner in governance.
He also expressed gratitude to Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, whose administration initiated the relocation of the Deputy Governor's office to its current site.
Senator Al-Makura commended Governor Sule for redefining governance in Nasarawa State, urging citizens to support his developmental strides.
The Emir of Lafia, Retired Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad, echoed similar sentiments, praising Governor Sule's bold steps in transforming the state.
He also commended the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Jatau, for his exceptional legislative performance and partnership in governance.
