FIDA Niger Elects Unopposed Leadership: Nine Executive Members to Steer Association for Next Three Years

A Nine Executive member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) in Niger State have been returned unopposed to pilot the leadership of the association in the next three years.
 
The position of Welfares officer was the only Position that was keenly contested between Hauwa Sayunti and Denes Noel Berje which the latter was elected with eleven votes beating her opponent with six votes
The election which was conducted at the Minna High Court Number two court room was presided by Senior Magistrate Christy Barau of Minna Magistrate court Four in old Secretariat Complexe 

Among the newly elected executive include Barrister Bolanle Jibogun the Niger state head of Legal Aid Council (LAC) was returned as the chairperson, Senior Magistrate Safura Abdulkareem of the Beji Magistrate Court as the Vice Chairperson, while  Barrister Hussaina Mayaki of the Niger State Ministry of Justice emerged as secretary and Barrister Maimuna Alhaji Yusuf a private Legal practitioner as the treasurer.
Other members of the executives are   Barrister Maryam Yakubu, assistant Secretary, Barrister Ajanigo Vivian Opaluwa, publicity Secretary Bilqees Swasu Ibrahim Shabafu as assistant publicity Secretary, Barrister Aisha Yusuf emerged as the Financial Secretary and Denise Noel Berje  defeated Hauwa Yahaya Sayuti to emerged as the Welfare Secretary.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration,the newly elected chairperson Barrister Bolanle Jibogun  commended the past leaders of the Niger state chapter  of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) for laying a solid foundation which they will bulild upon.

She pledged her leadership determination to involve every members of the chapter in the activities of the association.

She said her administration will continue to leverage on the foundation of the founding leaders of FIDA by embarking on mentoring the young female lawyers in Niger State.

Equally the newly elected Chairperson assured that her administration will ensure that all senior members and founding members of the chapter are brought on board, this according to her the association attains an enviable height and becomes a branch to be reckoned with.

" I crave the Support and cooperation of all my dear sisters to make this dream possible. As we move forward, I plan to expand the membership base of FIDA Niger, ensuring that all female lawyers in Minna, Bida, and Kontagora have the opportunity to join  our association.

" I also look forward to collaborating with other women-led Professional bodies and working with goverment and non-governmental  agencies traditional bodies, and local government authorities within our Jurisdiction" she noted.

Reiterating her leadership commitment to empower young women lawyers, Barrister Bolanle Jibogun promised her Intentions to establish a mentorship program, " providing them with the opportunity to learn from senior female lawyers through tutelage and mentorship".

She called on members of the branch to join hands with her administration in piloting the affairs of the leadership to empower women, enhance justice,and create a more equitable society.
