The wife of the Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government Area (LGA) in Nasarawa State, Hajiya Hauwa Ahmed Yahaya, on Tuesday distributed wrappers and cash to women across the 12 electoral wards of the local government. The distribution event took place at the Toto LGA Secretariat Complex.
Speaking at the event, Hajiya Hauwa highlighted that the initiative was part of ongoing efforts led by the First Lady of Nasarawa State, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, to empower women and vulnerable groups in the state.
"Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule remains committed to empowering women, girls, and other marginalized groups," Hauwa said, urging residents to continue supporting the First Lady’s efforts and the administration of her husband, Executive Chairman Pharm Ahmed Baba Yahaya.
The Chairman’s wife further assured that more initiatives are in the pipeline, which will continue to benefit women, girls, and the less privileged in the community.
She also appealed for the support of all stakeholders to ensure the success of her husband’s administration and his vision for the betterment of Toto LGA.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including the Executive Chairman of Toto LGA, Pharm Ahmed Baba Yahaya, Deputy Chairman Hon. Atnadu Sunday Yakubu and his wife, the Local Government Secretary and his wife, the Speaker of the Local Government Legislative Arm and his wife, as well as principal officers of the Local Government Legislative Council and their wives.
The APC Chairman of Toto LGA and key party stakeholders were also present.
