Governor Bala Abdukadir Muhammad has extended warm wishes to Christian faithful in Bauchi State on this year’s Christmas celebration.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado Jarman Alkaleri, the Governor expressed gratitude for the Christian community’s support to his administration since its inception.
He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing policies and programs that directly benefit all citizens of the state,
saying that his administration is working tirelessly to end the economic hardships ravaging the citizens.
He expressed worries that the people who voted them to power are faced with hardships.
“Government is not unmindful of the current economic hardship being experienced by the generality of the people of our country”, he said.
The Governor further noted: “Indeed, we are worried that the very people who gave us the mandate to formulate and implement policies for the betterment of their socio-economic wellbeing are being subjected to untold hardship”.
Bala Muhammad said as a subnational government, his administration is doing everything possible to ameliorate the hardship and make life meaningful to the all the citizens.
The Governor recalled that Bauchi state government under his stewardship has been providing palliative items to bring succor to the people.
“We will not relent in this regard. I call on you all to continue to exercise patience, while we work towards ending the hardship.
“With your continued support and understanding, all nooks and crannies of the State would benefit from our developmental programmes”, he declared.
He further said that the State Government is collaborating with security agencies to address real and perceived threats to security of lives and property of the citizenry.
According to the Governor, to achieve that, the Government is providing logistics and other support to the security Agencies for effective and efficient operation.
Governor Muhammad while wishing the Christian faithfuls a merry Christmas, prayed that the occasion will be observed peacefully.
The Governor concluded with prayers for a peaceful Christmas celebration in Bauchi and the nation at large.
In a related development the state government has distributed assorted food items worth millions of Naira to the christian faithfuls for this year’s Christmas and end of the year festivities.
Mr. Gin said that the gesture of Governor Bala Abdukadir Muhammad of the state was meant to enable the christians celebrate the Christmas with ease.
“ I must reiterate that since the inception of Senator Bala Muhammad administration in Bauchi state, he established the tradition of providing food items to the christian Community to enable them have da pleasant commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ”, he said
According to the Chairman, the items were handed to ECWA/Tekan, Catholic Secreteriate , PFN and CPFN, OAIC and CCN which are the five Main blocs of the CAN branch in Bauchi State.
The Chairman also noted that in its effort to put smile on the face of Christian faithfuls in the State, the State Government has commenced the payments of the month of December salaries to civil servants in the State to enable them make purchases and celebrate the yuletide period successfully.
The committee appreciated the State Governor, Sen Bala Mihammad for what it described as a kind gesture which the State Government has been extending to Christian faithfuls in the State.
Abdon Dalla Gin extended the committee’s best wishes to the Christian Community for the Christmas celebration.
According to him, Chairpersons of the Twenty local government areas in the state are complementing the initiative by providing additional assistance to Christians in their respective domains.
He called on Christians to use the occasion of the Christmas and New Year celebrations to pray for the continued success of the Governor Bala Muhammad-led administration and the overall progress of Bauchi State. End
