Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad charged members of his cabinet to present their key performance indicators (KPIs) of their respective MDAs for the year 2024.
Speaking at the opening before the meeting went into a closed-door session, the governor stressed that his administration has been built on the principles of “transparency, accountability, and results-driven governance.”
Senator Bala who presided over the SEC meeting Thursday, implored members of the state executive council to explore ways to actualise the vision of his administration for the benefit of Bauchi.
According to him, “My Bauchi Project I and II’ blueprint, which outlines the administration’s vision for the state, is a testament to this commitment.”
The executive council meeting, which was dedicated to appraising the performance of commissioners, marked a significant milestone in the administration’s efforts to promote accountability and transparency.
The governor emphasised the importance of evaluating the administration’s progress, identifying areas for improvement, and charting a course for sustainable growth and development.
The Governor also said that the meeting would be dedicated to all the Commissioners to give a detailed account of their stewardship so as to appraise their performances over the outgoing year.
He stressed that the essence is for the administration to do a self-assessment of what it has been able to do for the people in line with its set objectives in order to identify strengths and weaknesses for corrections in the coming year.
Bala Mohammed told the Cabinet members that, “Today, we are not here to discuss or approve any memo, we are not approving any project or spending any money. Our budget proposal is before the Assembly for passage. We are here to self-appraise ourselves.”
He added that, “The Office of the SSG has started it and I hope that the Office of the Head of Service too has done the same. We need to know where we are coming from to know where we are and then where we are going.”
As the administration continues to drive progress and development in Bauchi State, the importance of collaboration and cooperation among stakeholders cannot be overstated.
