The Renewed Hope Independent Support Committee (RIC) extends heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the successful reopening of the Warri Refinery.
This landmark achievement highlights the administration’s unwavering commitment to revitalizing Nigeria’s oil refining capacity and fostering economic growth.
For over four decades, Nigeria’s refineries have been plagued by inactivity, with billions of naira spent on futile maintenance efforts and trillions expended on fuel imports.
This long-standing stagnation eroded public confidence, with many advocating for privatization.
However, President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has defied these doubts, restoring optimism and demonstrating his dedication to transforming Nigeria's energy sector.
The reopening of the Warri Refinery, which will initially operate at 60% capacity, producing 125,000 barrels per day, comes on the heels of the successful restart of the Port Harcourt Refinery in November.
This achievement underscores the administration's strategic and pragmatic approach to energy efficiency and security, ensuring Nigeria's self-reliance in petroleum refining.
Moreover, the refinery’s enhanced output is set to reduce the cost of petroleum products, alleviating the economic burden on Nigerians.
Lower fuel prices will translate to decreased transportation costs, reduced food prices, and a general decline in the cost of essential commodities, positively impacting the lives of millions across the nation.
We commend the tireless efforts of Mele Kyari and his team at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for their dedication to restoring the nation’s pride and positioning Nigeria as a hub for crude oil refining in Africa.
We call on all Nigerians to rally behind President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which is charting a path toward economic stability, energy independence, and national prosperity. By the end of President Tinubu's tenure in 2031, we are confident that Nigeria will stand as a beacon of progress and achievement under his visionary leadership.
Once again, we celebrate this monumental milestone and eagerly anticipate further strides toward a brighter future for Nigeria.
