The Deputy Chairman of Lafia Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Uba Ibrahim (Tafidan Arikya), has been appointed as the Chairman of the Forum of the 13 Local Government Council Deputy Chairmen in Nasarawa State. The appointment was confirmed during a meeting held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Akwanga Local Government Council Secretariat.
In addition to Rt. Hon. Uba's appointment, other key officials were named to various leadership roles within the forum. Hon. Ibrahim Bulus, Deputy Chairman of Karu LGA, was appointed Vice Chairman. Hon. Basau Shuaibu, Deputy Chairman of Akwanga LGA, will serve as Secretary, while Hon. Yusuf Mada, Deputy Chairman of Nasarawa-Eggon LGA, was designated as Treasurer. Hon. Sabo Muhammad Asabahiyu of Keana LGA will assume the role of Publicity Secretary, and Hon. Atnadu Sunday Yakubu, Deputy Chairman of Toto LGA, was appointed as Financial Secretary. Additionally, Hon. Musa Aliyu, Deputy Chairman of Keffi LGA, was selected to serve as Adviser.
The appointments reflect the forum's commitment to strengthening collaboration and promoting effective governance across Nasarawa State's local councils.
