A civil society group, Peoples Alliance for Integrity and Accountability, PAIA, has raised alarm over one Destiny Thomas a female, said to be engaged in stalking sextortion, warning the public especially men to watch out.
Our Correspondent who was at the briefing report that the civil society organisation raised the alarm in Abuja on Thursday while briefing the Media alleging that Ms. Destiny or Destine, is a habitual stalker and is engaged extorting men of means by claims of rape and sexual abuse.
Speaking for the PAIA, Oscar Ebri, claimed that the briefing had become necessary in view of the several complaints by some victims of the act.
For instance, it was alleged that at some point she claimed to be a student of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria while in fact she is from Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria and was always lurking around ABU to give the unsuspecting members of the public the false impression of being a student there.
According to the PAIA spokesman, Ms. Destiny was said to have blackmailed two of her lecturers, which led to their initial suspension, after thorough investigation, the school authority found her culpable instead and that the lecturers were recalled from suspension while Destiny Thomas having been found guilty of blackmail, was subsequently rusticated from Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria, Kaduna State.
“After exhaustive follow ups and effort for the said Ms. Destiny or Destine C. to state her side of the story over the several allegations, she was not forthcoming and has also refused to go to the authorities.
“We learnt from our findings that she claims to be from Rivers, Kaduna or any state that suits her fancy at the material time.
“She is at present in Abuja where she is on rampage luring men into her ring to extort and blackmail them for huge sums.
“We are aware that this has become imperative to sustain her lifestyle of drugs and fast lifestyle.”
Ebri said given the status of some of her victims, they were yet to contact the authorities but remain hopeful that action will be taken.
The group spokesman noted that sextortion has become a global epidemic with dire repercussions and Nigeria needs to brace up to deal with the rising vice.
Meanwhile, the public is warned to beware as Destiny is reported to have a deceptive looks in appearance, putting up innocent looks while being dangerous in action. And reports have it that she is lurking around NNPC Towers, Abuja, looking for other would-be victims.
