Senator who represented Plateau North in the 9th Senate, Senator Istifanus Dung Gyang has made a passionate appeal to President Bola Tinubu to allocate funds for the dualization of the Akwanga-Jos Road in the upcoming 2025 budget.
Gyang in a Press Statement signed and issued in Jos on Monday says the Akwanga Jos Road is critical infrastructure project, which connects the North East, South East, and Abuja, has been in a state of disrepair, causing hardship for commuters.
"As the 2025 budget will soon be presented to the National Assembly for appropriation, Iam appealing to President Bola Tinubu to provide funding for the Akwanga-Jos Road dualizatuon project in the budget.
Senator Gyang's appeal is a follow-up to his earlier requests to the previous administration in the 9th Senate.
He acknowledges the Buhari administration's efforts in completing the Keffi-Akwanga-Lafia-Makurdi Road project and hopes that President Tinubu's administration will make history by executing the Akwanga-Jos road dualization project.
"The Akwanga-Jos Road is a vital link between key regions in Nigeria, making its dualization crucial for economic growth and national development"
The Lawmaker emphasized that the project's completion will not only ease travel but also enhance security along the road axis.
Senator Gyang believes that completing this project will be widely celebrated and leave a lasting legacy for President Tinubu's administration.
He urges the President to prioritize this critical infrastructure project, ensuring a better future for Nigeria.
