The Sasakawa Africa Association Nigeria has launched a specialized training program aimed at empowering local machine fabricators from Nasarawa State. The initiative, designed to combat postharvest losses, is taking place at the Agricultural Mechanization and Bioresources Engineering Workshop of the Institute for Agricultural Research, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

This effort aligns with a broader strategy to introduce cost-effective mechanization solutions that can significantly boost farming efficiency in Nigeria. The training seeks to equip 20 participants with essential skills and technical expertise, reducing the financial burdens often tied to acquiring and maintaining agricultural machinery.

The ultimate goal is to facilitate the adoption of modern farming techniques and technologies among smallholder farmers, thereby enhancing productivity and ensuring sustainable agricultural development.

This empowerment drive underscores the commitment of Sasakawa Africa Association to improve Nigeria’s agricultural sector and support rural development.
