The National President of Rijau Old Students Association, (RIJOSA), Alhaji Usman Kolo Bokani has raised the alarm over the deplorable state of the school.
He described as shocking the inhabitable condition of the Infrastructures in the Government Secondary School (GSS),Rijau calling on the Old Students to step in and give their Alma Mater a befitting edifice.
Speaking at the 2024 stakeholders and re-union of the school which was held at Doko Hotel in Minna at the weekend, Alhaji Usman Kolo described most of the structures in the school as an eyesore.
" You will be surprised and shocked if you see how those hostels, dining halls classrooms, sports field, fence and conveniences have turned into.
"Most of the structures in the school have become an eyesore. This is a sad reality of the current situation of the school" he lamened.
He appealed to all members of the old Students association to come together to rescue their Alma mater from the current state of the Infrastructures in the school before its total collapse.
According to the National President Association,in any association,annual dues, Support and personal sacrifices by the executive, highly, commited and dedicated members kept the association alive adding that a lot needed to be done.
He applauded the sacrifices of members Particularly at this trying moment of economic hardship.
Alhaji Kolo Bokani disclosed that for the record,since 10th, October,2021 to date, only Five hundred thousand Naira (N500,000),was generated.
" From that year,2021 to date is a long time as a last date for annual dues three year ago. This is not good at all. We should all work harder and make more sacrifices to develop our great institution" he appealed.
He posited that in this reputable association, commited, dedicated and patriotic Old Students have contributed immensurable towards the progress of the institution.
While commending the support of the old Students whose contributions to the development of the institution is immensurable,the National President appreciated the unprecedented support of the Minister of Information and National Orientation,Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi who is also an Old Student call on other well-meaning member of the association to support the development of the school.
In his remarks,a Senator representing Kibbi South Senatorial District Senator Mohammed Abubakar Maidoki also an student,call all critical stakeholders in education sectors to come to the support of the deloplarable Infrastructures across schools across the country.
He described as painful the manner at which goverments neglected Public schools to the pitiable states.
