Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau has bagged the award of Most Outstanding Speaker in the History of Nasarawa State House of Assembly over his leadership qualities.
The award was given to him by Eggon Youth Movement (EYM) Keffi branch today Sunday during the lunching of Maiden Magazine and N50 million for the construction of Entrepreneur Community School.
Presenting the award on behalf of EYM Keffi branch, Prof. Solomon Mangba Aza of Nasarawa State University, Keffi said the award is in recognition of the Speaker unique leadership style in the House in the area of unity, peace and understanding among members.
Prof. Solomon urged the Speaker to continue to be a good ambassador by ensuring that all members are carrying along.
" Continue to make laws and resolutions that will bring more development and economic prosperity in the state" he said.
Responding, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.
Danladi Jatau appreciated Eggon Youth Movement for the award and assured them of his support at all times.
" This award will spur me to do more and I want to thank you for your concern and for assessing what we are doing in the House" he said.
The Speaker promised to continue to enact good laws and pass good resolutions that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.
On the lunching of the Magazine and the Construction of Entrepreneur Community School, the Speaker commended the foresight of Eggon Youth Movement and said the initiative will go a long way to train the youth on skills acquisition in order to become self reliance.
"The gesture will reduce the level of unemployment, over reliance on government, create skills and capacity for self reliance" he said.
He called on the Eggon ethnic group in the state to work in synergy with other ethnic groups in the state to foster unity and more development projects for the betterment of the state.
"Eggon can not do it alone. We must work with other ethnic groups in order to achieve more development" he said.
He enjoined the leadership of EYM Keffi not to relent in making sure that the right thing is done for the realization of the project.
He added that the project, if completed would serve not only Eggons but the entire humanity.
Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada (SDP-Nasarawa West) who was represented by his legislative Aide, Theophilus Ego described Eggon people as peace loving and hardworking urging them to continue to maintain good relationship with other ethnic groups.
He promised to support the project for the good of the future generations.
Earlier, the Chairman Eggon Youth Movement (EYM) Keffi, Mr Danjuma Benjamin appreciated the Speaker and other guests for attending the event and said the initiative is a brainchild of the leadership aimed at building capacity and skills of the youth for better tomorrow.
He said the magazine contain the history of EYM the Eggon people and the future forecasting.
Danjuma reaffirmed the commitment of his people to continue to support and work with the government for peace and development of the state.
It would be reported that Dr Vincent Poul of NSUK in his presentation called on the government, well to do individuals, organisations and groups to support the beautiful idea to succeed.
The event had in attendance Hon. John Ovey, Member Representing Keffi East Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly among others.
