The Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC) has announced that it will commence the screening of candidates for the upcoming Local Government Elections on November 20, 2024. This exercise is part of the Commission’s preparations for the elections slated to hold on February 15, 2025.
Following the conclusion of the sales of Nomination Forms 006, 006A, and 007 on November 14, 2024, at 11:59 PM, KTSIEC has set the screening period between November 20 and November 27, 2024.
The screening for candidates contesting for the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman will take place at the Commission's Headquarters. Meanwhile, Councillorship candidates will be screened at their respective Local Government Secretariats across Katsina State.
The Commission has urged all political parties that have purchased nomination forms and their respective candidates to ensure they are fully prepared for the screening and clearance processes, as stipulated in the approved election timetable.
KTSIEC emphasized that there will be no further extensions to this timeline.
Only candidates sponsored by their political parties and who have completed the nomination process will be allowed to participate in the screening.
