A Kaduna-base Human right activist, Mahdi Shehu has lamented continuous abuse of justice at lower courts.
He stated this when he dined with inmates and freed 10 others at the Medium Correctional centres in Zaria at the weekend.
Shehu said that the abuses was a bad precedence to the entire justice system in the country.
According to him, if left unchecked, the prevailing situation will tarnish the good image of the judiciary being the last hope of the common man.
The Human right activist who provided food and drinks as well as dine with them in the Correctional facility also freed 10 other inmates after paying fines and compensation.
Recall that Mahdi Shehu had just last week freed 55 inmates from Kaduna and Zaria Correctional facilities.
He said "when I visited the facility last week, I was not happy with the way I saw these inmates.This is why I decided to bring food and drinks to them as a show of love and succour.
"I urged all well meaning Nigerians to imbibe the culture of visiting Correctional facilities nearest to their homes with a view of extending succour to them.
"You may not necessarily have the might to free them but you can assist with food, clothes and other basic needs." He urged.
Sheikh Mohammed Awwal Sharif, a reknown Islamic cleric and close associate to the activist enjoined scholars to extend their religious gesture beyond churches and mosques.
He urged them to accord greater priority to correctional facilities priority in their religious welfare scheme.
Some freed inmates who expressed remorse, thanked the Human right activist for giving them freedom.
