Nasarawa State Governor and Chairman of the North Central Governor's Forum, His Excellency Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule, has extended warm congratulations to Comrade Alhassan Yahaya on his election as the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, Governor Sule commended the peaceful process that culminated in the emergence of the new leadership team to steer the affairs of the NUJ for the next three years.
The Governor highlighted Comrade Yahaya's wealth of experience and cosmopolitan outlook, expressing optimism that his leadership would inspire NUJ members to excel in their roles as societal watchdogs and agenda setters.
Governor Sule underscored the critical role of journalists in addressing Nigeria's developmental challenges, emphasizing the need for unity and collective support for the newly elected executive council to fulfill its mandate effectively.
“Journalists are indispensable partners in development, contributing significantly to public discourse and serving as a vital feedback mechanism between governments and citizens. They deserve our collective accolades and unwavering support,” the Governor remarked.
