The Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government Council, Hon. Jonathan Okuba Addra (JP), has expressed profound appreciation to the Nasarawa State Government, led by Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, for providing vital relief materials to flood victims within the Ekye Development Area of Doma Local Government.
Hon. Jonathan made this commendation on Friday during the distribution of essential supplies facilitated by the state government through the Ministry of Special Duties on Humanitarian Services and collaborating NGOs.
The distribution, held at the Doma Council Secretariat, aimed to assist residents recently impacted by the devastating floods.
The council chairman acknowledged the kind intervention of Governor Sule, noting that it would offer significant relief and bring comfort to those affected.
He emphasized his administration’s commitment to ensuring the fair distribution of all relief items, pledging zero tolerance for any form of misappropriation.
Hon. Addra also extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Humanitarian Services and the World Health Organization (WHO) for their critical role in supporting the relief efforts. He urged the Humanitarian Commissioner to convey Doma Local Government's appreciation to Governor Sule for his unwavering support to the community.
“On behalf of the flood-affected residents of Ijiwo, Ole Kokpa, Otiya, Obendo, and Achepe within Ekye Development Area, we express our heartfelt appreciation to you and all collaborating agencies that made this relief effort possible,” Hon. Jonathan stated.
In her address, Hon. Princess Dr. Margaret Itake Elayo, the Humanitarian Commissioner, lauded Governor Sule for his steadfast dedication to the welfare of Nasarawa State citizens.
Dr. Margaret further expressed the government’s appreciation to the WHO for its support and urged the victims to make optimal use of the relief items. She assured them of continued medical support through Primary Health Care facilities, in collaboration with the WHO, to aid the affected communities' recovery.
