A group of newly appointed staff at the College of Education (COE), Akwanga, under the banner of Eagles of Progress, has appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State to reappoint Dr. Jonathan Thani for a second term as the institution's provost.
The group's leader, Comrade Idris Ahmad, made the call during an interview with our correspondent in Lafia. He praised Dr. Thani for his exceptional leadership and commitment to transforming the college into a center of academic excellence.
Comrade Ahmad highlighted Dr. Thani's numerous achievements during his first tenure, including infrastructural development, staff capacity building, and the introduction of innovative academic programs that have elevated the college’s reputation within and beyond Nasarawa State.
“Dr. Thani has been a beacon of hope and a visionary leader for COE Akwanga. His policies have not only improved the welfare of staff and students but have also attracted stakeholders’ recognition. It is only fair to allow him to continue his good work by granting him a second term,” Ahmad stated.
He further urged the state government to prioritize continuity in leadership, emphasizing that Dr. Thani's reappointment would consolidate the gains already achieved and propel the institution to greater heights.
Staff and students of the institution have reportedly joined in the clamor, with many attributing the college’s recent successes to the provost's unwavering dedication and strategic reforms.
