Embattled Acting National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, ( PDP) Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, has said that Tinubu’s Policy Reforms Have Increased Economic Hardship to Nigerians
" My party PDP and Nigerians will vote out APC in 2027 general elections" saying that Nigerians are learning the bitter lesson of collecting wrappers and spaghetti to vote incompetent leaders to office".
Damagun, who has been reportedly suspended by a faction of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP alongside the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, for alleged disloyalty to the party, accused a section of Nigeria’s electorate of being blinded by wrapper and food items inducement to vote for President Bola Tinubu.
Damagum stated this while fielding questions from journalists on Friday during a visit to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad of Bauchi State, as part of efforts to address the problems currently bedeviling the PDP
Damagum lamented that the majority of Nigerians continue to experience hardship owing to the policies of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The APC was never prepared for governance so how do you expect any good to come out from them?,” he asked.
“Those that collected spaghetti and wrappers to bring in this government are feeling it more than anybody else and this should be a lesson for all of us that we should look for credibility , those who are actually proven and tested, those who are ready to govern us, not ‘it’s my time’ like they have always said”
It could be recalled that the PDP Acting National Chairman, Amb. Umaru Ilya Damagun, along with the National Secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu were reportedly suspended by a faction of the National Working Committee (NWC) for alleged disloyalty to the party.
Speaking on the visit of Damagum to Bauchi state, Governor Muhammad, who is the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ forum denied that there was a faction in the PDP.

Muhammad, who serves as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, has dismissed reports of factional divisions within the PDP.

The meeting, held at the Government House in Bauchi, came amid reports that Damagum had been suspended and replaced by Muhammad Ahmad Yayari. Governor Bala, however, asserted that the PDP is capable of managing its internal issues and remains focused on unity.
“We discussed these situations extensively with the acting National Chairman, and we agreed to work collaboratively with other party organs, including the Board of Trustees, the Governors’ Forum, and legislative caucuses,” Bala stated.
The governor also addressed rumours of party disloyalty and plans to oust him from his role as the Governors’ Forum Chairman, attributing these claims to misunderstandings and miscommunication.
“We have resolved not to allow any gaps in our relationships moving forward,” he said, adding that he regretted any previous disagreements with Damagum. Governor Bala called on journalists to avoid creating perceived divisions within the party, insisting, “There is no faction in the PDP. We are united and committed to resolving all our issues together.
