Shola Ogundana, a standout player for Brazil's Flamengo Football Club and a product of Beyond Limits Football Academy, has made a notable contribution to grassroots football development in Ekiti State, Nigeria.
In partnership with Beyond Limits Football Academy, Ogundana donated footballs, educational materials, and substantial funds to the Ekiti State Football Association and all 16 local football councils. The gesture demonstrates his commitment to giving back to his community and fostering the growth of young talent.
The donation took place at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti, during the grand finale of the 2024 Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup, an annual Under-15 football competition that has become a key platform for discovering emerging football talent in Ekiti.
Ogundana’s rise to prominence began during the tenure of Mr. Bayo Olanlege as Chairman of the Ekiti State Football Association. He was scouted and later transferred to Flamengo FC after impressing at the Viareggio youth tournament in Italy.
His generous contributions are expected to have a long-lasting impact, inspiring future generations of footballers. Ogundana's journey from Omuo-Ekiti to South American football stardom serves as a powerful testament to the transformative potential of sports.
