Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District has unveiled the construction of 2.5km rural roads in Zaranda community, Toro local government area of the State, saying it is part of his electioneering promises.
The lawmaker said that the road project is part of his constituency projects in 2024 worth N850 million, which has been approved for execution.
Senator Buba who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, said that with the cooperation of the benefiting community, the 2.5km road would be delivered for usage within one month.
He expressed his delight at the project’s potential to transform the lives of rural communities, saying, “It will not only facilitate the movement of people and goods but also provide access to markets, schools, healthcare facilities, and other essential services
“As a candidate, trying to represent you as your senator in 2023, I pledged to relentlessly pursue meaningful and life changing projects, provide for your common good and your sustained welfare,” he said.
The Senator said that the road project was an attestation of his vows which he did with the Holy Quran on the floor of the Assembly to provide quality representation. Buba added that the awarded project was a part of his numerous constituency projects to be delivered this year.
He said that the project will be completed in one month and called on the people of the community to cooperate with the contractors handling the project for a smooth completion. "There are two other road projects approved through ecological funds that will be awarded soon” he said
