Twenty three Local Government Chairmen of the People's Democratic Party in Benue State have endorsed Engr. Conrad Utaan as the sole nominee for the national chairmanship of the PDP in 2024.
Addressing Journalists at a Press conference held on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 in Makurdi, the chairmen emphasized the importance of unity within the party and the need for leadership that prioritizes equity, fairness, and justice.
Chairman of PDP in Katsina Ala Local Government, Hon. Adigo Terseer, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues
called for the replacement of the current national Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, with a candidate from Benue State, specifically from the Benue North-West Senatorial District.
The chairmen collectively endorsed Utaan as the sole nominee from the district to replace the place of Dr. Ayu and pledged to communicate their decision to the party's executive committees at various levels for further action.
They expressed hope that their choice would be affirmed at the upcoming National Executive Committee meeting of the party scheduled for October 24th, 2024.
