From Suleiman Abubakar
..... we're fully in support of the zoning arrangements by Balarabe Abdullahi, it's the best political formular so far, says Toto youth leader.
.... Tsshas, Kwanaki thank Gov. Sule, former Speaker Balarabe, Toto LG citizens for the opportunity to serve, say their three years tenure was eventful, impactful....
The outgoing Executive Chairman of Toto LGA Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas who has just served for three years in office has said that he is not going to re-contest because he is in full support of the zoning arrangements in the area that brought him to power.
Hon. Tashas said as he is set to bow out of office, his support is solidly behind any candidate that will be endorsed by the immediate past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi to succeed him.
The outgoing chairman who was speaking to his people in Gadabuke at the weekend appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule, the former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi and the entire people of Toto LG for the opportunity they gave him to serve noting that his last three years in office has been eventful and very impactful with lots of projects that has been carried out by his administration that has direct bearing on the lives of the people of the area.
On his part, the outgoing Deputy Chairman of the council Hon. Abubakar Kwanaki who hails from Toto town and has earlier indicated interest to contest for the number one seat of the area has announced his stepping down from the race saying that he is backing the candidate of their political leader, the former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi just as he appreciated the Governor, the former Speaker and the people for the mandate they gave him in the last three years which he said their administration has done its best for the people.
Reacting to the political development in the area Alh. Kasim Ohizi, the former President of Egbira Youth in Toto LG commended the leadership style of the former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Balarabe Abdullahi for initiating zoning arrangements in the area saying that it is the best political formular so far which is yielding positive results.
He hailed the outgoing chairman Hon. Abdullahi Tashas who hailed from Gadabuke District for thought it wise not to re-contest by supporting the zoning arrangements that brought him to power and the Deputy Chairman Hon. Kwanaki for his loyalty, understanding and thoughtfulness for dropping his ambition despite being from Toto District where the zoning is going and for declaring his support for his brother the candidate from Ugya town Alh. Keke.
He revealed that in Toto District, out of the major towns, Ugya Town stands the better chance to be allowed to produce the next Chairman for equity and justice because Toto town has had Chairman many times adding that the immediate past and the present Commissioners are from Toto Town and that the present State Assembly Member is from Shafan Abakpa apart from the Two former reps members from Shafan Abakpa and that Shafan Kwatto has in the past produced a Chairman in the area aside two state assembly members living Ugya Town with nothing.
"It was this zoning brought by Balarabe Abdullahi among the three districts in Toto LG that Umaisha District was able to test power with Hon. Nuhu Adamu Dauda and today Gadabuke District has tested it also with Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas and now is moving to Toto District, which is a good thing, if not before then, power is centred in Toto District "
The crux of the matter is that the former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi who is the political leader in the area has not make any official pronouncement of the aspirant or candidate he is backing for the Chairmanship position but people are of the view that it will not be far from one Alh. Keke from Ugya town because some of Balarabe allies are rallying support for him which is a pointer.
Some political analysts from the area are of the view that whoever may get the blessings of the former Speaker may be the lucky one and will have age over others at the APC primaries because Balarabe is still in full control of his constituency Umaisha/Ugya especially delegates which he will bring absolutely while that of Toto/Gadabuke will be spread and besides Balarabe still have serious loyalists from Toto/Gadabuke like the former member Hon. Labaran Shafa, State Commissioner for Health Dr. Gaza and the Outgoing Chairman Hon. Tashas who will never go against Balarabe's direction especially now that Shafa and Tashas control significant numbers of delegates from Toto and Gadabuke Districts.
