Nasarawa State, Nigeria – Comrade Salihun M. Alkali, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Nasarawa State Council, has pledged that journalists will uphold the highest standards of professionalism in their reporting during the upcoming local government elections.
Alkali made this commitment during a stakeholders' meeting organized by the Nasarawa State Frontiers for the Advancement of Peace and Democracy (NSFAPD).
He emphasized the readiness of journalists to collaborate with the state electoral body, assuring them of accurate and responsible coverage.
During the meeting, he cautioned attendees against the dangers of misinformation, urging members to avoid fake reporting before, during, and after the elections.
The gathering featured several speakers who echoed a unified message, highlighting peace and unity as essential components for meaningful development in the region.
