The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has issued a statement discrediting a list of consensus chairmanship candidates currently circulating on social media.
According to the statement signed by Dr. Aliyu Bello, the State Chairman of APC, the list is false and the product of mischief makers.
"The attention of the APC leadership in Nasarawa State has been drawn to a fake list of APC chairmanship candidates circulating on social media, purportedly from the party leadership," the statement read.
"We urge APC members and the general public to disregard this fake news."
Dr. Bello emphasized that the screening of aspirants has only just concluded, and the process of reaching consensus candidates is still underway.
He assured that the official list of consensus candidates would be announced by the APC Local Government Primaries Election Committee, led by Barr. Tanimu Adabson.
In the statement, the party leadership also commended Governor Abdullahi Alhaji Sule for his dedication to fostering consensus in most local government areas, expressing optimism that the consensus arrangement would soon be finalized.
