Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State held a valedictory meeting on Wednesday with the 13 outgoing local government council chairmen, marking the conclusion of their three-year tenure.
The meeting, which took place in the Governor’s mini conference room, saw all council chairmen in attendance.
Governor Sule expressed his gratitude for their dedication and achievements, noting their contributions to the state’s development over the last three years.
The chairmen, who were sworn into office on October 8, 2021, will officially conclude their tenure on October 8, 2024.
Earlier, the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), led by Chairman Barrister Ayuba Wandai Usman, met with the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
During the meeting, NASIEC released guidelines for the upcoming local government elections, scheduled for November 2, 2024, which will elect new chairmen and councillors across the state.
