Honorable Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, the current House of Representatives member representing Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam in the National Assembly, has made a heartfelt appeal to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to urgently provide relief materials to the areas affected by recent flooding in Kanam Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.

The devastating impact of the floods has left many residents in dire need of assistance, and Gagdi insists that immediate action is necessary to alleviate the suffering of his constituents.

He emphasized the critical role of NEMA in addressing such emergencies and urged them to prioritize the distribution of relief items to ensure the affected individuals receive the support they desperately require.

In addition to appealing for relief materials, Hon. Gagdi has also called upon the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to address the worsening condition of the Dengi Jarma Road, which has been severely impacted by the flooding.

This crucial roadway links Bauchi and Gombe states and serves as a vital artery for transportation in the northern part of Nigeria.

The recent deterioration of this road, particularly following the collapse of a bridge, has hampered the movement of goods and services, further complicating the challenges faced by the local population. Gagdi insists that timely intervention by FERMA is essential to restore access and enhance the economic stability of the region.

As a committed representative of the Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam constituencies, Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi continues to rally support for his community, urging both the national assembly and federal agencies to respond effectively to the challenges posed by natural disasters. His proactive stance and dedication demonstrate a focus on not only immediate relief but also long-term infrastructure resilience, which is crucial for the development and well-being of the residents in Kanam LGA.

The urgent attention required from NEMA and FERMA reflects the need for collaborative efforts to strengthen disaster response and improve road infrastructure in the face of natural adversities.
