As part of the celebrations marking Nigeria's 64th Independence Anniversary and Nasarawa State's 28th anniversary, a novelty football match took place at the Lafia Township Stadium on Tuesday, 1st October 2024. His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, actively participated in the match, which pitted the State Executive team against the Legislative Arm.
The match attracted prominent spectators, including former Nasarawa State Governors, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, adding a touch of prestige to the event.
In an exciting showdown, the Executive side, led by Governor Sule, emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over the Legislative team, marking a memorable celebration for the state.
