Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on Nigerian youths to embrace patriotism and reject social vices to foster peace and national development. He made this appeal during an interview at the "True Nigerians Party," an event organized by popular Nigerian musician Zaki Azzak under the theme, "Celebrating Patriotism," held at the Lafia City Hall, Nasarawa State.
Governor Sule stressed the importance of unity and loyalty to the nation, urging youths to set aside religious, tribal, and political differences in order to build an egalitarian society.
"Nigerians, especially the youth, must come together to show patriotism, integrity, and respect for the land. We cannot allow our differences to divide us," he stated.
With Nasarawa State being home to a diverse mix of ethnic and religious groups and a large youth population, the Governor highlighted the state's commitment to fostering unity among young people to drive national progress.
He noted that Nasarawa was chosen as the ideal location to host the event due to its focus on encouraging patriotism and unity among its youth, assuring the organizer of ongoing government support.
In response, Zaki Azzak, the event's organizer, told Governor Sule that the event aimed to promote patriotism, unity, and peace, aligning with the state government’s agenda. He encouraged Nigerian youths to maintain positive attitudes and avoid negative behaviors, emphasizing that they are the future leaders of the nation.
Zaki also expressed gratitude to Governor Sule and other stakeholders for their support and vowed to continue creating events that inspire peace and unity among Nigerian youths.
