Governor Hyacinth Alia has expressed gratitude to the people of Benue State for their peaceful participation and overwhelming support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the last Saturday Local Government elections.

He lauds the citizens for their mature engagement in the democratic process, highlighting the importance of peace and unity for the state's progress.

The Governor appreciates the voters' commitment to a peaceful and civil exercise, stressing the significance of upholding democratic values.

He acknowledges the support for APC candidates as a sign of recognition and alignment with his administration's vision for the state's advancement.

Governor Alia reassures the people of his government's dedication to fulfilling the social contract with them, aiming to lead Benue towards greater prosperity.

He congratulates the election winners and urged both winners and losers to collaborate for the state's development and success.

In a swift reaction however, Senator Abba Moro of Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, strongly denounces and rejects the recent Local Government elections in Benue State, calling it a sham and an affront to democracy.

He claims election materials and officials were absent from polling units, with ballots being allegedly thumb-printed in favour of APC candidates in the premises of party leaders.

Senator Moro expressed disappointment in Governor Hyacinth Alia for failing to uphold truth and due process, and vows to challenge the election outcome in court to ensure a free, fair, and credible process for the electorate.
