The Emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli has described Fulani community in Nigeria as peace loving not violent  or criminals.

to uphold their core values f their heritage not violence.

He Said this while addressing the Fulanis at the occasion of charge at National Pulaaku Day 2024 organized by Fulbe Development and Cultural Organization (FUDECO), Kaduna State Chapter held at his Palace in Zaria City on Saturday

He said, the real Fulanis were known as herds men and the Sticks they were  carrying was meant cattle or controlling their cattle not. 

According to him it is the bad eggs among Fulani's that gave bad names to the real Fulani's in this country.

He described  Fulani'ls as the most learned  and enlightened People in Nigeria because of Shehu Usman Fodio had greatly impacted knowledge on them even before the colonial master era

The Emir expressed his dissatisfaction on how  Fulanis were linked with cases of banditry and kidnapping in Nigeria, adding that it was not their  heritage and it was blackmail.

Mallam Bammalli urge them to uphold their core of their heritage.

In his remarks st the occasion Barrister Abubakar Ibrahim Naseh said, the wrong names giving to Fulani's by some section of Nigeria is a planned to destroy them on the history they have in the country.

Barrister Naseh sighted an example that if any western or eastern tribe committed criminal offence they address them as unknown gunmen while they called Fulani's as Bandits or Kidnappers.

Also speaking on the Significance of occasion former Director General, Voice of Nigeria (VON), Alhaji Abubakar  Jijiwa said it was  an avenue for all Fulani's to assembled and  interact on issues affecting them directly or indirectly.

Abubakar Jijiwa asked Fulanis  to reunite themselves and address the lingering issues which gave them a very bad name in Nigeria.

He also warned them to wake up and reclaimed their position and values amongst Nigerian states which was trying to be eluded.

Earlier in his remarks, the Ardon Ardodin Zazzau Alhaji Abubakar Umar expressed confidence that Fulani's would bounce back to reclaimed their position in Nigeria.

He said, the Fulanis were peace loving people but they find themselves in a very difficult situation because of some few individuals personal gain.

The theme of these years event is " Celebrating Fulbe Culture, Heritage, Peace and Unity" in collaboration with the United Nations International Day of indigenous peoples"

Our Correspondent reports that highlights of the occasion is the display  of Fulanis' culture.
