Capital City University Kano has been granted a full operating license by the National Universities Commission (NUC), solidifying its status as a private university in Nigeria.
The approval followed the NUC visitation panel's inspection in October 2024. The panel commended the university's high standards of facilities and operations since its establishment in 2021.
With this development, the provisional certificate initially issued at its commencement has been upgraded to a full license, a significant milestone for the institution.
Hajiya Rakiya Bello Dandago, the university’s Registrar, credited the achievement to the dedication of the governing council, management, and staff, stating, "This outcome is a product of our collective commitment to excellence."
Located in the heart of Kano City, Capital City University is determined to reshape education in Kano, Nigeria, and globally. It aims to continually upgrade its infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of the tertiary education sector.
In a statement from the Vice-Chancellor’s office, Professor Yusuf Daraja congratulated all stakeholders, especially the students, on this achievement within just a few years of the university’s operation.
