Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial District and serving as Senate Minority Leader, has fiercely criticized the recently conducted Local Government elections in Benue State, describing them as a "sham" and an "affront to democracy.

" He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of manipulating the electoral process, alleging that election materials and officials were missing from polling units and that ballots were illegally thumb-printed in favor of APC candidates at the homes of party leaders.

Expressing disappointment in Governor Hyacinth Alia, Senator Moro condemned the Governor for failing to ensure a transparent and fair election.

He announced plans to challenge the results in court, seeking justice for the electorate and a return to a free, fair, and credible process.

Meanwhile, Governor Hyacinth Alia expressed gratitude to the people of Benue State for their peaceful participation in the elections and praised the overwhelming support shown for APC candidates.

He commended the citizens for their mature engagement in the democratic process, emphasizing the importance of peace, unity, and upholding democratic values for the state's progress.

The Governor viewed the support for APC as a sign of alignment with his administration's vision for Benue's development.

He reassured the people of his administration's commitment to delivering on its promises and congratulated the election winners, urging both victors and those who lost to collaborate for the state's prosperity.
