A Thirty Five Years Old Nura Yerima, has been arrested by the Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), for allegedly circulating false allegations on social media against a personnel of the Corp Idris Saidu SC.
Nura has alleged in the false allegations in the social media that Idris Saidu was involved in supplying rifles to bandits, even as court of Competent Jurisdiction in Niger State through suit No: MN/ MTB/ CR/ 60/14, dated July 8, 2015 has exonerated the officer.
Addressing Journalists at a newsbriefings in the command headquarters in Minna, Wednesday, the Commandant of the Corp in the state Mr Adamu Abdullahi Kambara, explained that the command has already ignored the false circulation of the fake news as being alleged in the social media by Nura Yerima," but as he continued to circulate the false allegations against the officers we don't have any options than to trace and arrest him"
He disclosed that the suspect is already in the Custody of the command for further investigation after the completion of the Investigation he will be arraigned in court for Prosecution.
Commandant Adamu Kambara, also disclosed that the suspect was apprehended by his operatives in September 17th, 2024, stating that his arrest was aimed at reaffirming the command commitment in protecting the Corps' integrity and its Personell.
Speaking further, Kambara told Journalists that the command's operation Flush Patrol team has arrested three teenagers who specializes in phone snatching from unsuspecting individual in Tunga Land Mark Bakery in Minna.
Among the exhibits recovered from them, according to Adamu Abdullahi Kambara, Include Cutlass, knives and other dangerous weapons disclosing that the suspects are currently under investigation and to be charged to court for diligent prosecution.
According to the Commandant,no amount of blackmail and campaign of calmuny against the corps will deter his men from doing their job of the protection of critical National assets and Infrastructures in the state.
Reiterating the command preparedness to make the state inhabitable to valdals and other Criminal elements in the state Commandant Kambara urged the Public to disregard the false information, as been circulated by the suspect.
He appealed to members of the Public to always verify information through the proper official channels noting that spreading false and unveryfiable information " undermines national security and damages our reputation. Offenders will be made to face the full weight of legal consequences"
While assuring his unwavering commitment towards the dedicating his men readiness to the maintenance of law and order, Commandant Adamu Kambara stated that the command under his watch will continue to strive hard in the Protection of lives and properties and combating Criminal elements with absolute professionalism and integrity at all times.
