NSCDC Boosts Security at Niger State Hydroelectric Dams Ahead of Nationwide Protests

To ensure the safety and the Protection of the Critical National assets across the country ahead of the planned nationwide protest  slated to take place in Tomorrow,the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) in Niger State has mount surveillance across the four hydroelectric dams in the state.

The state Commandant of the Corp in Niger State, Alhaji Adamu  Abdullahi Kambara said in line with the directives of the Commandant  General of the  NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi,to protect the National assets across the country the state command has deployed  its men on surveillance across the critical National installations and assets in the state.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the the command Spokeman  Abubakar Mohammed Rabiu Muti and made available to Journalists  in Minna on Monday stated that the state Commandant of the Corp has directed all the area Commanders  and divisional commanders to ensure the safety and security of these Infrastructures which according to him  are crucial to the social economic and well-being of the state and country as a whole.

According to the Spokeman, the Commandant has equally directed all Area Commanders, Divisional officers of Shiroro, Jebba, and Kainji Hydro Dams to mobilize adequate security for the protection of the critical National Asset and Infrastructure under their jurisdiction.

He maintained that the Commandant has equally directed the immediate deployment of additional personell to reinforce security to safeguard Shiroro hydroelectric station,Jebba hydro dam and Kainji hydroelectric station among other critical national assets and Infrastructures in the state.

Specifically,the command Spokeman disclosed that the state Commandant has instructed that twenty four hours surveillance and monitoring, prevention of unauthorized access or vandalism and collaboration with other security agencies to maintain law and order and report suspicious movement to the appropriate agencies for prompt action.


"The NSCDC  Niger State Command is committed to maintaining law and order, and we will work closely with other security agencies to prevent any disruptions to critical infrastructure," he said.

Commandant Adamu Abdullahi Kambra joined the farmer governor in wishing Nigeria a happy 64th independence day celebration while thanking him also for his unwavering support to NSCDC Niger State Command.

The Commandant  urges citizens to remain calm and go about their daily activities without fear. We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians.
