Hon. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, the Member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has announced her commitment to enroll 200 vulnerable individuals from her constituency into the state health insurance scheme.
Hon. Danyaro, who also chairs the House Committee on Women Affairs, made this announcement during a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) in Lafia on Tuesday.
She emphasized that this initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden of healthcare and enhance access to medical services for the most vulnerable members of her constituency.
Expressing her continued dedication to improving the quality of life in Nasarawa Central, Hon. Danyaro praised the state government for its innovative health insurance program.
In response, Dr. Yahaya Bawa Ubam, Executive Secretary of NASHIA, lauded the lawmaker’s efforts and reiterated the agency’s mission to deliver quality, affordable healthcare to all residents of the state, with a goal of achieving universal health coverage by 2030.
He also encouraged other lawmakers, philanthropists, and NGOs to adopt similar initiatives by using the agency’s adoption model to support vulnerable populations.
