Dalhatu Araf Specialists Hospital (DASH) in Lafia is set to collaborate with the Nasarawa State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) to promote mental health awareness and wellness among its members.
This partnership was announced by the Chief Medical Director of DASH, Dr. Ikrama Hassan, during a recent meeting with the executive members of SWAN at his office.
Dr. Hassan emphasized the importance of mental health, noting that it has become a global priority in healthcare.
He assured the association of the hospital’s commitment to making necessary facilities available to support the mental well-being and physical fitness of SWAN members.
The CMD highlighted the hospital’s readiness to contribute to this noble cause, reflecting DASH’s dedication to comprehensive healthcare.
In his remarks, the Chairman of SWAN Nasarawa, Mr. Smarth George, expressed the association's desire to collaborate with DASH to ensure the mental wellness of its members.
He outlined the association's plans for a week-long series of activities to mark SWAN’s commitment to mental health.
Mr. George also took the opportunity to congratulate the management of DASH on the recent upgrade of the hospital to a federal teaching hospital, a significant achievement sanctioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
"This upgrade marks a milestone in the hospital's history and further solidifies its role as a key player in the nation's healthcare system.
