In recent times, the political landscape of Nasarawa State has witnessed significant shifts, particularly with several key figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC) defecting to other parties due to poor crisis management.
Notable politicians who have multi grassroots connections, like Senator Godiya Akwashiki, Senator Wadada, Hon. Gazza G., Hon. Abubakar Dahiru Sarki, Hon. Solomon Akwashiki, and Hon. Musa Ibrahim, among others, have left the APC and successfully contested elections under the banners of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), while still retaining loyalists within the APC.
This scenario presents a challenge for the APC in maintaining its political dominance.
However, with a strategic approach, the APC can navigate these challenges and secure its position in Nasarawa State.
Otherwise the party will be there while its members will be feeding information to opposition party.
The APC should focus on fielding strong candidates with local ties, good reputations, and a clear vision for development. Candidates who are well-respected and have a genuine commitment to addressing the needs of the electorate are more likely to garner support.
