Police-Military Synergy Neutralizes Armed Robbers, Arrests Two in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Central Nigeria — In a successful joint operation, the Nasarawa State Police Command and the military neutralized two armed robbers and arrested two suspects during an armed robbery incident on June 29, 2024.

The incident occurred around 3:10 a.m. near the Karshi by-pass. Upon receiving a distress call, police operatives, in collaboration with military personnel, swiftly responded to the scene. 

The armed robbers engaged the security agents in a gunfight, resulting in two criminals being fatally injured. 
They were rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. The remaining robbers fled with bullet wounds.

The combined security team conducted a thorough search of the area, leading to the arrest of two suspects: Yusuf Lawal, 27, a resident of Nyanya, FCT, and Hamza Abdullahi from Orange Market, Mararaba, both of whom hail from Bauchi State.

The operation also led to the recovery of several items, including:
- 3 cartridges
- 3 cutlasses
- 19 handsets of various brands
- 2 laptops
- 9 pairs of shoes
- 1 wristwatch
- 1 MP3 player
- 1 power bank
- 3 torches
- 3 bags
- 2 ear pods
- A smoother
- Sachets of milk and Milo
- N2,600

Commissioner of Police CP Umar Shehu Nadada commended the officers for their effective response and urged them to maintain their vigilance and dedication.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, signed the press release on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command.
