The Establishment of the Multi-door Court house in Niger State Judiciary is a commitment of the Judiciary to provide effective, accessible mediation and reduce workloads of judges and burden on court, the Chief Judge of Niger State Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik has announced.
She noted that workloads of judges and the cases pending in most of the courts in the state has become a sort of burden on judges which necessitated the establishment of the Multi-door Court house in the state Judiciary stating the legal framework was backed by the state house of Assembly.
Inaugurating a nine member of the Niger State Multi-door Court house held at the conference Hall of the Niger State Judicial Service Commission (NSJC) in Minna at the weekend, Justice Halima Ibrahim stated that the Multi-door Court house will embrace the principles of fairness and justice for all manners of people.
She disclosed that the Multi-door court house, has the legal backing of the law as passed by the state house of assembly " and so far since its establishment in January, heard about 61 cases"
According to the Chief Judge, for more effective speedy administration of Justice a courthouse will also be established in Suleja due to its strategic location and proximity to the nation's Capital Abuja.
Justice Halima Ibrahim then charged members of the council to do their job diligently without fear or favor.
Speaking earlier, the state Director of the Multi-door court house Hajiya Sa'adatu Abubakar Gambo while expressing satisfaction with the members, noted that they are persons of proven integrity.
She implored them to live above board in the discharge of their responsibility and in the discharge of their duty as expected of them adding that their inauguration as members of the council was a milestone In the Judicial system as it would enhance quick dispensation of justice.
She appreciated members of the council for accepting to serve .
The nine members of the council included the Chief Judge of Niger State Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik as the Chairman, Justice Mikailu Abdullahi Justice Marya Mammy Ismail, Hon. Nasiru Mua'azu ( Attorney General), Other Members are Barrister Mohammed Kudu Ndayako (SAN), Barrister Abiola Ezekiel James Barrister Mohammed Wazir Abdulkadir and Hajiya Sa'adatu Abubakar Gambo.
