A ten member executive council to pilot the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Minna Branch, in the next two years has been elected.
The post of the vice chairman and that of the publicity secretary were keenly contested, while the remaining officers were all returned unopposed.
Barrister Adamu Abugi Mohammed of the Summit Chambers beat his opponent Sulaiman Kitse Ibrahim with a total of 119 votes against 91 votes.
Barrister Fatima Muhammad Nura Alfa polled a total of 128 votes to beat Deborah Excel Achanya who scored a total of 76 votes.
Those returned unopposed are Barrister Isyaku Barau as chairman,
Mohammed Aliyu Kutigi secretary and Barrister Hassan Habib Alhaji. assistance secretary.
Others members returned unopposed, included Barrister Mustapha Mohammed Garba Treasurer, Barrister Hauw Yahaya Sayutii Financial secretary, Barrister Abraham Favour, Social secretary, Barrister Hadiza Nura Alfa Welfare Secretary and Maimuna Yusuf Alhaji as the Provost.
Speaking with Journalists shortly after the election at the Niger State High court complexe in Minna, the newly elected Chairman Barrister Isyaku Barau commended the electoral committee for the smooth conduct of the election.
He assured that his leadership as the Chairman of the NBA, will pursue the Welfares of his members Witt all the needed vigours that will impact positively on the lives of his members.
