In response to the current security challenges in the Lafia Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata, convened an expanded security council meeting on Monday at the Lafia Local Government Council office.
The council decided on several critical measures to ensure public safety. Effective from Monday, June 3, 2024, motorcycle movement will be restricted from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and tricycle movement will be restricted from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Security agencies have been instructed to enforce these restrictions strictly.
Traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents are urged to monitor the influx of people into the area and report any suspicious individuals or activities to the security agencies promptly.
Commercial and private motorcycle owners are specifically called upon to comply with these new regulations to help secure lives and properties, thereby contributing to the progress and development of Nasarawa State.
