The Federal High Court in Lafia has dismissed the case against NASIEC, declining jurisdiction. The court held that the Electoral Act of 2022 contravenes Sections 7 and 8 of the 1999 Constitution and therefore can only be applied to Area Councils, not Local Governments (LGs).
