Abdulrazak Bello Kaura, a journalist residing in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, and Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zone A (Northwest), has addressed a false story circulating about a corps member named Michael being brutalized in Kaura Namoda.
Kaura stated, "This story is entirely fake and fabricated. The incident described did not happen, and the image of the supposed corps member is also false. This misinformation is being spread by some well-meaning but misled individuals."
To highlight the falsehood, Kaura pointed out that the NYSC allowances are currently N19,800, which itself is a clue to the inaccuracy of the story.
He urged the public to disregard the story in its entirety and emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing it to prevent undue panic and distress.
"Let's focus on facts and work together to ensure the accurate representation of events," Kaura concluded.
