Bauchi Relocates Businesses Impacted by Executive Order on Temporary Shops and Structures

Bauchi state Government has clarified the recent controversial order of vacation for Owners of Temporary Shops and Structures along Major Road corridors within Bauchi metropolitan.

The Government made the clarification Today during a Ministerial briefing held at the Executive Council Chambers that what it is doing presently is clearing illegal structures erected indiscriminately thereby blocking pathway along the road. 

The state Commissioner of Internal security and Home affairs Barrister Abdulhameed Muhammad Bununu while addressing News Men alongside Three Others said the recent Executive Order has a relation with Certain Security reports which indicated how bad elements are using the Structures as hideouts.

Bununu opined that the state Government is not unaware of the Consequences of such order on Small Business owners, but sees it as paramount to upheld the Fabulous Security enjoy by the state.

He said with the Order, the state security will be rapidly increased while Security Operatives in the state will Work for the protection of peace without hindrances.

The state Commissioner Land and Survey Hajiya Amina Katagum explained  that Government has since provided a permanent place for all owners of temporary structures where by each business owner will be allocated with a piece of Land Using a Cluster system for the continues of their Marketing. in line with Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s efforts and directives as contained in the #MyBauchiproject agenda.

She assured that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure that all those affected by the exercise got befitting business environment for the transaction of their businesses as sources of income.

Amina Katagum also said that plots of land have been acquired along Atiku Abubakar Road and Sam Nujoma Road where lockup shops will be provides to accommodate other businesses.      

She implored for a proper understanding of the Initiative which according to her if properly implemented will address all challenges associated with Insecurity of Business places and create a new atmosphere for traders to thrive.

On the Environmental Benefit of the Order, The Commissioner, Ministry of Housing and Environment Dallami Ahmad Kawule disclosed that the Move will no doubt mitigate Environmental maltreatment happening within the Bauchi Metropolitan in which In legal structures and shops are either built or installed along waterways thereby leading to Flash Flooding within the city.

Dallami Ahmad Kawule urges Residents to support the present administration commitment towards Remodeling the Bauchi Metropolitan to be among the Most Beautiful capital cities in the country by abiding to all Environmental protocol as stated in the State Master plan.

Discussing on the Economic aspect, The state Commissioner Ministry of Commerce and Industries Mahmood Babamaaji Abubakar highlighted on the present administration's Resolved to remodel all Major Markets in the state.

He said The Governor's order will no doubt enhance the city skyline, Canvases Investment to state and Revitalize economic activities for People
The Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Mahmoud Baba Maaji Abubakar on his part said that people of the state would in the future appreciate the initiative of the Government as it will sanitize various businesses, boost economic and commercial activities which will in turn grow the economy of the state.

Mahmoud Baba Ma’aji said that the administration, through his ministry has created an enabling environment with the massive infrastructural development that is making the State attractive for foreign investors that would soon unveil their business enterprise in the State.

He appealed to the people to reason with the Government and continue to pray for its success.

Rimawagloblnews in an interview with Buhari Maijama'a  a concerned citizen  who noted with dismay that the fate of those petty traders and artisans now hanging in the balance as, according to him, they were neither relocated to any suitable place to display their wares nor provided them any financial assistance to alter alternatives, appeal to the state government to consider the plight of owners of demolished containers, or temporary shops for a suitable but designated enabling environment to continue their businesses. 

Maijama'a expressed regret that the economic crunch being faced by the people, particularly roadsides Petty-traders, and container owners in Bauchi metropolis whose sheds were smashed or demolished by the state government were left at the pain of want and squalor.

He told our correspondent in Bauchi yesterday that following the inflationary trends sweeping the country and globally, those Bauchi neglected petty traders and artisans, as a result of structures demolishing have their capital bases either bastardized or bogged down and businesses grinding to a halt.

Buhari Maijama,a also expressed fear with what he described as negatively unfolding trends across the country, principally the economic hardships being experienced by Nigerians and insecurity ravaging them, saying Nigerians are now left at the mercy of capitalists, insurgents and bandits.

“Nigerians are living in a very harsh and difficult conditions, especially from the inception of Tinubu-led administration and it’s attendance fuel subsidy removal, couple with some of its unguided economic policies and developmental programmes”, said the concerned citizen.

He explained that what worries him most is the self-centered tendencies of emirs, community leaders, clerics and clergymen who could neither talk nor advice on any alarming or imminent event or catastrophe, but could only coerce electorates to vote candidates of their choice whenever there are elections.

He queried, “Where do you want those petty traders, artisans whose livelihood solemnly defends on little-little proceeds from their day-to-day businesses to go and fend for a living”.
