To commemorate the one year anniversary of the governor Umar Mohammed Bago of Niger state, the state government says it has lined up activities to celebrate its first year in office tomorrow, the 29th. May, The goverment assumed office on May 29th 2023.
Part of the activities lined up for the celebration among others, is the commissioning of 200 units of CNG buses to boost transportation in the state as well as other high tech vehicles for security agencies to curb insecurity.
The Commissioner for Information Binta Mamman who made this known on Monday during a pre-anniversary media briefing said the event would be low- key but designed to showcase some of the achievements of the Muhammed Bago-led government in the last one year.
"It is a tradition that such milestone of either human or government is commemorated so as to appreciate and apprise achievements and successes recorded.
"There is no doubt that in Niger State a new era of progress and prosperity is underway, thanks to Farmer Governor Muhammed Umar Bago. In just one year he has sparked a transformation like never before.
"From the reconstruction and expansion of crucial roadways like the six-lane Chanchaga Expressway and Minna Township Roads, Minna-Keteregi-Bida Road to championing mechanised farming and purchasing of 1000 High Tech Tractors worth billions of naira.
"Governor Bago's vision for a thriving Niger is coming to life as his unwavering commitment to turning the state around has led to remarkable upgrades and innovations which showcase his commitment and dedication to excellence," Mamman said.
The Commissioner listed some of the achievements of the governor in the last one year including infrastructural development, education, health, green economy initiative, transformation and renaming the Minna Airport to Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport among others.
She disclosed that the anniversary would be marked with a novelty football match between the executive and legislative Arms of government as well as an anniversary lecture.
