Nasarawa lawmaker advises the electorate to elect representatives who have people at heart.
He urged them to avoid politics based on religion, ethnicity, and other factors.
Hon. Solomon Akwashiki gave this advice while hosting the Lafia Media Practitioners Forum in his office today.
He also stated that only those who can deliver on their mandate should be elected to office, not those who will accumulate wealth for themselves.
Hon. Akwashiki, who represents Lafia Central Constituency at the state assembly, reaffirmed his commitment to providing good representation for his people.
While commenting on the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Hon. Akwashiki said he will not relent in his quest until the power company restores constant power supply to the constituents.
"Let me commend the Speaker of the assembly, Hon. Danladi Jatau, and all other lawmakers who unanimously supported my motion on this issue on the floor of the house."
"Lafia Constituency will continue to witness my impact."
Hon. Akwashiki, who was elected under the banner of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), revealed that in the coming days he will empower youth and women within the constituency.
Earlier, the chairman of the forum, Comrade Rayyanu Bala, told Hon. Akwashiki that the forum was in his office to congratulate him and express their satisfaction with his legislative style.
He mentioned some key areas, including borehole drilling, education, and the construction of culverts and drainages in some parts of Lafia Central Constituency.
He also scored him highly on the issue of AEDC.
Comrade Bala promised that the forum will support him to excel.
