KANO - The State Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano has taken action against ward party leaders in Dawakin Tofa Local Government for their attempt to suspend the national chairman, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje.
Earlier this week, leaders in Ganduje's ward had announced the suspension of the APC national chairman.
However, the party's local government officials swiftly intervened, overturning the suspension and removing those responsible for the action.
In a statement issued by the State Working Committee, they clarified that the ward level falls under the jurisdiction of the State, and as such, the committee has nullified the suspension imposed by the ward leaders.
In a retaliatory move, the committee has suspended the ward leaders involved in the attempt to suspend Ganduje.
This development highlights the ongoing power struggles within the APC in Kano, with higher-ranking officials asserting their authority over decisions made at the ward level.
