President Bola Tinubu has emphasized the bolstering investment climate in Nigeria due to new reforms and called for stronger partnerships in the manufacturing sector.
He made these remarks during the presentation of a letter of credence by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, Vice-Admiral Kim Pan Kyu, at the State House on Friday.
President Tinubu highlighted Nigeria's vast market potential for Korean products, particularly those manufactured and produced in Nigeria.
He urged South Korean companies to seize the opportunities by establishing production bases in Nigeria, emphasizing the mutual benefits for both nations' markets.
''Nigerians appreciate South Korean technology, and Nigerian products can also be beneficial to South Korean markets. We have everything your industries require to excel,'' said President Tinubu.
The President recounted his productive discussions with President Yoon Suk Yeol during the G20 Summit in New Delhi in 2023, expressing his commitment to strengthening bilateral ties based on the summit's outcomes.
He welcomed an invitation from President Yoon to attend the first-ever South Korea-Africa Summit from June 4 to June 5, 2024, in Seoul.
Ambassador Kim praised President Tinubu's pivotal role as the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government and leader of Africa’s largest economy, population, and democracy.
He emphasized Nigeria's crucial participation at the Summit to enhance bilateral relations and foster prosperity for both Africa and Korea.
Earlier, President Tinubu received letters of credence from Ambassador Antit Mohsen of Tunisia and High Commissioner Muhali Imbuwa of Zambia. During these meetings, he stressed the importance of African unity, cooperation, and eliminating conflicts across the continent.
President Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to deepening partnerships with North African countries towards achieving continental prosperity.
He acknowledged the returning investor confidence in Nigeria and the international community's increasing recognition of the country's progress.
Both the Tunisian Ambassador and the Zambian High Commissioner praised President Tinubu's leadership, economic reforms, and enhancement of national security. They expressed their governments' readiness to collaborate further, particularly in trade, economy, and defence sectors.
