The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has called on Commissioner Emeka Woke to step down from his position after criticizing the administration he serves.

Emeka Woke, former Chief of Staff to the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, recently described the administration's actions, including a Thanksgiving rally organized by the Simplified Movement, as indicative of a "clueless" leadership.

In response, PDP Spokesperson in Rivers State, Sydney Tambari Gbara, emphasized that Woke's public criticism suggests discomfort with the current administration. Despite this, Woke has chosen to retain his position, which Gbara argues goes against the oath of office sworn to protect the government's integrity.

Gbara further stated that individuals like Woke, who seem disinterested in serving the administration, should make way for enthusiastic and qualified youths.

Instead, their actions hinder the younger generation's opportunities to contribute positively to the state.

Highlighting the contradiction in Woke's actions, Gbara pointed out that it is unacceptable for a cabinet member to publicly denounce the administration they are a part of. He suggested that Woke's criticism should have been communicated through a resignation letter rather than publicly insulting the Governor.

Governor Siminialayi Fubara's commitment to transparent and effective governance remains unwavering.

The PDP emphasizes that criticisms should be constructive and not undermine the administration's efforts to serve the people.

The PDP encourages the people of Rivers State to focus on supporting Governor Fubara's vision, particularly his dedication to empowering the youth in governance.
